Attend my event

My name is June White and I am on a path to an Afrikan-centered life.

I did not begin my life’s journey with an Afrikan-centered mentality. I don’t even recall the words “Afrikan” and “centered” being used in the same sentence in my household as a child.

My wake-up call came when a white male I was dating, knew more about my history than I did. There was this intense feeling of shame screaming out “how is it that I, a black female knew nothing of my true history?” After that realization, I began searching and came across the following quote from Marcus Garvey: “A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.” This quote led me to begin doing extensive research about my true history. With that being said, I know now that I am truly walking in my purpose. I cannot say that I have all of the answers, but I know I am on the right path.

The path that the creator has set before me and my newfound duty is to educate my people. I have chosen to take my charge a step further and focus exclusively on Afrikan women in search of answers leading to a more purposeful path.

“Each One Teach One.”’

With that being said, over the past several weeks, I've been working hard on helping other Afrikan Centered men and woman put together an event called Diaspora Day.
