Bred for stamina, speed, and endurance, the Siberian Husky became renowned for its ability to work in extreme cold with minimal food.

The breed gained worldwide recognition when Siberian Huskies participated in the 1925 "Great Race of Mercy" to deliver lifesaving diphtheria serum to the town of Nome, Alaska. This event showcased their incredible endurance, speed, and loyalty, catapulting them into international fame.

Physical Characteristics

The Lobo Siberiano is best known for its striking appearance, which often resembles that of a wolf. They are medium-sized dogs, typically weighing between 35 and 60 pounds, with males being slightly larger than females. Their dense double coat, designed to protect them from the cold, comes in a variety of colors, including black, gray, red, white, and agouti. One of the breed's most distinctive features is its eyes, which can be brown, blue, or even have heterochromia (two different-colored eyes).
