Born in Canton, China I grew up immersed in an artistic environment. My father passionately draws, plays music and reads poetry while my mother skillfully sews and loves dancing. In an effort to share their passion for the arts, my parents enrolled me in drawing, music and dancing classes beginning at the age of 8. I began to recognize my interest in drawing and design at a young age after entering and winning several awards in drawing competitions. But it wasn’t just the drawing I was enthusiastic about. While growing up I would spend hours crafting clothing for my Barbie dolls. The time spent doing so paid off when, at the age of 12 years old, I won a silver medal at a local Barbie fashion competition with my sole design material being paper. This led me to the dream of making beautiful clothing for people in real life.
After completing my degree in Fashion Design Women’s wear in TianJin Academy of Fine Art, I felt I needed more training to be a successful designer, so I decided to study abroad to improve myself. After arriving, I enrolled in the Academy of Art University to pursue my master’s degree.
I am very passionate about what I love. I dream of being an excellent fashion designer. My goal after obtaining an MFA degree at the Academy of Art University is to work for a fashion company or design house where I will gain industry experience before launching a design studio of my own. Ultimately I will launch my own brand one day, while working as a teacher and sharing my knowledge and skills.
