JUS VUN

Paris, France

Jus Vun was born on the island of Borneo, migrating to Australia when he was a mere neophyte.

After completing a Bachelor's degree in Business, he worked in the Australian Government and Universities in the field of Financial Systems.

In his mid-20s, he lived in Tokyo for 6 years, immersing himself in Japanese arts & culture while working in the field of education. It was during this time that he discovered a burning passion for photography. Following this, he began working as a freelance documentary and portrait photographer under the pseudonym of ONTOSHIKI, a literal translation of his Chinese name into Japanese (温俊輝).

After much deliberation, he moved to Paris in 2012 to pursue a European MFA in Photography at SPEOS Photographic Institute.

He currently divides his time between Paris and Tokyo working in portraiture, fashion and editorial photography. He is a guest curator on Citylab and his fine art work is licensed through Millenium Images.

A visual sensualist, his fashion and portrait work reflects the many spectrums of darkness in the human psyche. It can be described as a marriage between the sensual and elegant, with a gentle melancholy yet palpably intense. His interest in photography extends beyond fashion and portraiture as can be seen in his provocative personal work which focuses on documentary projects with social issues occasionally working with NGO groups. In addition, he has a keen interest in the human condition, urban & underground subcultures and the beauty of the female form.

His work is defined by an eclectic mix of influences including pop & gaming culture, arts & cinema, travel & music as well as finding inspirational narratives from documentary and fashion photographers.

Available for fashion, portrait & editorial assignments in Paris, Tokyo and internationally.
