Justin A. Vacca

Justin Vacca is a graduate of Central Michigan University and Northern Illinois University. He has previously worked at the University of Rhode Island for three years as a Hall Director of three first-year residence halls.

Currently, he is the Assistant Director of Housing & Residence Life at Holy Names University , a small Catholic-affiliated University nestled in the hills of Oakland, CA. HNU houses approximately 450 residential students. He has worked with various departments such as Orientation, Academic Advising, Health Enhancement, Student Activities, and Residence Life in his undergraduate, graduate, and professional experience.

Justin is a strong advocate for social media paired with face-to-face interaction. He is a supporter of self-directed learning and social justice education. He feels that empowering students is one of the most crucial pieces in his role as a higher educator. He enjoys exploring the diverse East Bay area - scoping out the local food scene and geocaching in his spare time.
