Justin Watson

Opera Singer and Teacher in Detroit, MI

Justin Watson is a lyric baritone actively singing and teaching in the metro Detroit area. Mr. Watson is a Navy veteran and a graduate of Oakland University's School of Music, Theater and Dance, where he studied with John-Paul White. Representing the city of Detroit, Mr. Watson was selected as an opera apprentice by Operalaboratorio, sponsored by Teatro Massimo, to study and sing in Palermo, Italy. Additional educational accolades include a Masters Degree in Education from Marygrove College as well as having been a participant of the Juilliard School's “Complete Choral Musician” workshop.

Appearing on both radio and film, other notable professional engagements include the Detroit Opera (Michigan Opera Theatre), Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Wayne State University Concert Band (professional soloist) and soloist/section leader positions at several churches including All Saints Church, Pontiac, MI, the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, Royal Oak, MI and the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Detroit, MI. In this capacity, Mr. Watson sang at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC as well as St. Peter's Basilica in Rome for Pope John Paul II.
