Growing up, I've always had an interest for cars. What started as something as simple as noticing cars that seemed different has grown into a life long passion. And now that I've held this interest in cars for many years, I am starting to realize it has done a lot more than I would have thought years ago.
What I didn’t mention is that this interest did not come naturally. My dad also has a passion for cars, so to no surprise, I developed similar interests. Some of my earliest memories are sitting with my dad in the driveway and learning from him. As I grew older, I began to understand and develop a broader understanding of cars, more specifically the mechanical aspect.
So to keep things short and simple, this was us for the past decade, working on cars and dreaming even more about cars. But in recent years, I’ve realized the great deed this interest has done for me. It has provided a pathway for me to connect and bond with my dad. Whether we were talking about his first car, what we were going to do next, or our dream cars, those moments were critical in not only deepening my interest in cars, but also creating a better bond with my dad. This passion and influence from my dad has shaped and continues to shape me today. It not only gave me a lasting hobby, but also inspired me to approach things differently- with persistence and eagerness to understand. So, for me, cars are more than just transportation or a hobby.
