Justin Edward Baker

Los Angeles

Growing up in his historic hometown of Charleston, South Carolina, Justin spent many years in the field of the Performing Arts, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Music from Charleston Southern University. After becoming a choral conductor and music teacher for public schools, Mr. Baker found his way in directing and teaching theatre arts and eventually film production. His well-known advocacy for Arts Education led to the creation of many initiatives, organizations and conferences. The dream became too large to contain and in 2012 made the move to the West to pursue his life-long love for filmmaking and sacred music.

Justin's musical history with the church as a classically-trained vocalist and organist gave him an opportunity to become organist-choirmaster at St. John's Chapel of Monterey, California for a short time, a journey preceded by being the music assistant to Ann Hood of Holy Cross Episcopal, Sullivan's Island and an organ student of Porter Remington.

Still maintaining his love for Education and the visual arts, Mr. Baker earned his Master of Science degree from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, specializing in Education Media Design and Technology.

As Justin continues to perform as a vocalist for several small venues in the LA area, his current projects include envisioning and directing his first feature-length documentary film, “The American Chorister” which reveals the lives and work of choral musicians in America and the church, featuring the members of the Choir of Saint James’. Justin currently owns and curates his own media consulting firm, Fuzzy Image Media - providing consulting to individuals, organizations and companies worldwide, promoting "good things."
