Jack Welch once said, “until you become a leader, success is all about growing yourself. After you become a leader, success is about growing others.” My opinion diverges from Jack’s in that I believe that personal development extends beyond becoming a leader. I am in complete alignment; however, that leadership is about elevating others.

I currently direct all aspects of Morro Capital, a global private equity company with a diverse portfolio that includes e-commerce, software development, manufacturing, and fulfillment businesses. As a senior executive and P&L owner, I must craft a clear vision for the future, develop actionable strategies, and create a business model that drives sustainable growth. The best-laid plans, however, mean nothing without a capable and motivated team who can execute. Recognizing this, I invest significant time in developing team members, cultivating an inclusive culture, and rewarding strong performance.

In addition to my role with Morro Capital, I am the owner of JustinFit, a concierge health, and fitness practice that I founded in 2007. I built this organization from scratch, which over time became one of the most recognized and trusted personal training brands in South Florida. I became a subject matter expert for a variety of national publications, such as USA Today, Brides, Prevention, and Shape. I also appear regularly on television programs like SoFlo Health, Morning Dose, and Inside South Florida.

As mentioned previously, I firmly believe that self-development is a lifelong endeavor. I am passionate about finding new ways to “sharpen the saw." I currently hold 18 active certifications in multiple industries and am finishing my last semester in FIU's Master of Science in Marketing program (digital marketing, analytics, and brand development focus). The best education, however, comes on the job. I feel fortunate to work in a role that is never short of learning moments.
