Yellow Springs Ohio

I'm 42. I grew up in Yellow Springs Ohio. I play video games. I still read comics. I love music. I still worship at the altar of the the Michigan Fab 5. I watch way too many movies. Especially Korean ones. I grew up to become an ad man. Why? Because I once read somewhere that in advertising, they don’t care if you hide dead bodies under your kitchen floor, you can get a job as long as you can write a great ad. With that knowledge, I quickly got into advertising.

Now, at good agencies, nobody fucks with copywriters because they rule the universe. I thought that was pretty cool, especially the parts about ruling the universe and nobody fucking with me. But, it didn’t take long for me to realize that agencies are run by corporate hacks and bold ideas are crushed by giant cave trolls known as shitty clients. So, I left.

My wife and I then decided to start our own agency called clay + stan and a cool little shop called Urban Handmade. To put it simply, I came home to Yellow Springs to live a happier life earning much, much less money by making silly t-shirts for our shop and creating brands for clients who have budgets smaller than your monthly grocery bill. Life is rad, and I've discovered that the universe has an uncanny ability to make me feel totally awesome at any given moment.
