Strengths Quest: The strength that I have picked and identify with most is "Competition." Competition means to try your hardest in everything you do especially when you are attempting to beat someone else in a task. I identify with this strength the most because I hate to lose. I will give it my all no matter how small the task just to be able to say I won. It is all about pride and self respect in my opinion. It impacts my academic life because it correlates with my grades. I don't want to get anything lower than an A so I study and work as long as I need to in order to achieve that. It impacts my personal life because I try my hardest in every little competition. Even if I'm just playing cards with my friends I will give it my all and make sure I come out on top.
Wellness Assessment: In the wellness assessment activity we took a survey that consisted of questions that would relate to all parts of our life and then our results got compared to others at Ohio State. I think this activity really helped me because it allowed me to see how I compare to the rest of my peers in certain areas. It will help my future also because it made me recognize my weaknesses and strengths. Ever since I took the assessment, I have been focused on strengthening my weaknesses so I can become the best and most successful student I can be. For example, I have paid closer attention to my financials and the environment. I was very encouraged to become a better me because of this assignment.
Time Management Activities: The time management activity that we were required to do in class was to write down everything we did in a week based on the hours of the day. I mainly filled this chart out with my daily activities of: going to class, studying, lifting, hanging out with friends, and sleeping. This activity really helped me and I learned a lot. I learned what I was doing during the week, where I had open time or where I could cut down on leisure time in order to make sure necessary tasks were completed. The understanding of how to manage my week will help me greatly in the future. For example, now I know how to balance the fun and studying for the rest of my college career. I will also be able to transfer these ideas to the real world with my eventual job and family.
