I hit send and immediately pulled my hood down over my eyes. . . I barely noticed that my palms were sweaty as I started rapidly counting from zero up to sixty.
1 . . . 2 . . . 3 . . .
I felt my world implode. My breath was ragged.
22 . . . 23 . . . 24 . . .
I started doubting myself.
44 . . . 45 . . . 46 . . .
Maybe I can take it back???
59 . . . 60
My hood flies back and I hit send on the second email I prepared.
The first one, an apology email to my immediate supervisor for leaving him in the lurch during the busy season.
The second one, to the entire management team: HR, my boss, his boss. With my official resignation.
I had just jumped out of a perfectly good airplane with a $6 thousand dollar parachute. . .
Hi I'm Justin. A little less than a year ago I walked away from a job that all of my friends envied in corporate America. I had the company car, cell phone and most importantly the credit card. Life was good.
I knew I needed more though. I needed to feel like I was making a difference (and not in stock holders quarterly reports either).
Since then I've been teaching myself how to code and have started a few different companies:
skilltra.de => Skill sharing platform for Startups.
dnlode.com => (Pronounced "Download") an accelerated learning platform.
editionly.com => Read more.
