Hi, I’m Justin. I’m a teacher living in Chilliwack, B.C.. I am a fan of reading, fitness, and snowboarding. I’m also interested in travel and sports.

This is a telling photo of me because it expresses my journey as a teacher from the past into present, and towards the future. The artifacts in the photo, and the location express the arc of my journey. The Seattle Mariners jersey symbolizes the beginning of my journey into education from my first paid teaching job in Japan. I chose the jersey as a souvenir from this experience, a reminder that my journey began from a daring move to far east, where I would either sink or swim.

The location of this photo is in San Francisco, taken in the summer of 2019. I was teaching for the district school board of Niagara, and took a summer job with EduTravel. I had the privilege of taking a group of grade eleven and twelve students to California on a summer school credit course and travel experience. It was this experience that inspired me to move west to B.C., where permanent teaching contracts are plentiful.

And now, here I am, living in Chilliwack B.C., employed by the Chilliwack school district as a Resource Teacher, taking the Level B course to make myself more employable, all in the hopes of securing a permanent contract to better my future.You can view my photos with a click on the button above.
