He did not pick the genre out and still is not sure he would identify himself as such. From a young age, he simply got tired of the clean cut, conservative image of a region that prided itself on its past with hospitality and The Grand Ole Opry. Two things he does not readily identify himself with. Instead, he writes about the present and the future, uncovering The South for the issues and crimes that lie beneath the surface, a very liberal undertaking. Such themes are covered within works such as Everyone Loves A Scandal, where a woman beaten senseless by her minister husband and goes to a pornographer. And in later works, such as The Truth About Murder where a retired deputy sheriff murders a child molester to protect his Autistic nephew. And Anger Always Flowers with a Sicilian immigrant to New Orleans avenges the murder of his Cajun lover at the hands of his former mob boss, who resurfaces years later as a Born Again Televangelist. Whether in short or long form, these issues are hard hitting and filled with crime. Lesser known are his non-fiction entertainment based works involving Web Series: The Wave of The Future? Along with his A Fan's Guide To... series profiling such figures as Steven Spielberg, Rod Serling, and Alfred Hitchcock. He is also a very prolific author of science fiction and fantasy, with a couple of entries from his fantasy based crime series The Rainmaker, Merlin Doesn't Live Anymore and Man Overboard, being stand outs. Along with his short story collection, The Ancient Astronaut Files and his novella Perfect Child, Imperfect. From the time he was twelve years old, he has helped raise an Autistic brother, Justin has also written quite a few books that deal with Autism, such as Pookie. Half of his books include Autistic characters. Justin Murphy resides in Orlando, Florida with his brother and other family members. A young author taking on the world...
