Juvanda Nomvula Mokwena

I’m Juvanda Nomvula Mokwena — a Photography graduate from Vega School of Design in Pretoria, a storyteller at heart, and a purpose-driven entrepreneur.

As the founder of Crowned & Centered, I create safe, empowering spaces for young women—especially young mothers—to heal, connect, and grow in both life and business. My mission is rooted in personal experience: navigating the pressures of Black tax, early motherhood, and entrepreneurship with little support, I chose to build what I needed but couldn’t find.

I’m also the author of Black-Tax: A Silent Burden, a powerful piece that sheds light on the emotional and financial weight many young Black South Africans carry silently.

Through my work—be it in wellness, music, or writing—I advocate for healing, independence, and generational transformation. Whether behind a camera lens, a microphone, or in a room full of women ready to grow, I show up to remind others that their story is valid and their voice matters.
