Jeremy Vidito

Fueled by the belief that every child deserves not only the opportunity to graduate high school, but to excel in life - Jeremy Vidito has dedicated his career to improving public education. As founding principal of Starr Detroit Academy, Jeremy led the design of the school and operations for the first two years. He currently serves as Executive Director of Strategic Planning & New Schools at Starr Educational Services. He has led new school startup and operations and is the chief architect of Starr's expansion across Metro Detroit. With over 15 years of experience in urban education, his career has spanned the Bay Area, New Orleans, and Detroit. Jeremy began his career as an Americorps Member and since then has served as a middle school teacher, led new school startups across the country, and managed data, finance, and operations for a number of charter management companies. Jeremy is working to ensure that perseverance and grit are more of a determinant in a student's outcome than their zip code. He has an MBA from the University of California-Davis and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Missouri- Columbia. Jeremy currently resides in Detroit's East English Village neighborhood.
