Jasmine Washburn
Foster Youth Advocate, Full-Time Student, and Content Creator in Albany, NY
Jasmine Washburn is a foster youth advocate, an author, the founder and leader of UAlbany's Foster Love Club, and a growing content creator. She spent seven years in the NYS Foster Care System before signing out at 19 to pursue higher education and begin her mission to improve the foster care system.
Washburn attends the University at Albany majoring in both Psychology and English. She aims to obtain a PhD in Public Policy and continue her mission to make foster youth feel safer, supported, and visible across the nation.
She collaborates with many policy and law makers across New York State discussing possible policies that could better protect and prioritize the needs of foster youth. Washburn also works with many organizations across the state of NY to advocate for higher education access, housing support, and trauma informed care.
