Currently, I would describe myself as someone trying to discover themselves. I am at a struggle point in my life where I question what I want to do with my life every day. Since well before the start of college, I started asking myself what I want to do with my life. Most of the time growing up, the answer to that question would have been engineering. I loved math and science growing up, so I always thought that I would enjoy engineering. After just one year of college though, I learned that engineering is not for me. Being good at and enjoying math and science was not enough for me to want to be an engineer. Above enjoying math and science, I enjoy having fun, and I quickly realized that in engineering, I would be swamped with so much schoolwork all the time that it would be difficult to find time for fun. This is an example of what has become a common theme during this transitional period in my life: self- realization. Throughout this transitional period, I have continued to try new things which I think might interest me. Sometimes I like the things I think I will enjoy, and other times I learn that maybe something isn’t for me. When I try something and learn that it isn’t for me, it can show me something I did not know about myself. This helps aid in the self-realization process which is helping me figure out what I want to do with my life.
