Joseph Lee
Filmmaker, Student, and Fitness Instructor in Oakville
Hi I’m Joseph, a 20 year old Ryerson student from Seoul, South Korea. Growing up, I was surrounded and influenced by my mom that helped me find my passion and my love for filmmaking. Since my dad was working tirelessly in Korea, I never got the chance to see him growing up aside from the 2 month summer breaks I had throughout school, so since a very young age, I learned to appreciate every little moment that I got to spend with him. Since I rarely got to see him, whenever I would go back home to visit him, he would take us to places people could only dream of visiting. Whenever our family went on vacation, my younger self would wish that I could somehow save these memories so I could look back at it whenever I missed my dad. The summer of 2014, my family set a trip down south to Jeju island except this time, I noticed a Canon point and shoot in my mom’s drawers and brought it with me. When we came back, I researched for hours learning how to edit videos, add music. I fell in love with the process. I loved that I could watch back at the videos and have it bring me back to that moment of happiness and joy. On my 16th birthday, my uncle bought me my first DSLR and I began exploring outside my bubble and creating content for social media influencers, one of the biggest supplement companies in the world and I have no plans on stopping to become an influential film director. Below is a link to some of my work, come join me on my adventure to create more lifelong memories.
