Dr. Jean WilsonMurrayhas spent over 30 years helping small business owners start and successfullyoperate small businesses. With an MBA and a PhD in entrepreneurship, she hastaught small business courses, owned successful home-based businesses, blogged aboutsmall business laws and taxes, and written several books on business startup.

Dr. Jean’s mission is to make “the business stuff” easy forhome-based professionals, including freelance writers and authors, so they canfocus on their professional careers. She believes a professional writing careerincludes “three pillars of expertise”– writing, promotion, and business. She’sbeen there-done that with setting up businesses, and she knows that a writer orauthor must manage all three pillars to thrive, not merely survive.

Her most recent focus is The Thriving Writer: Business Essentials forProfessional Writers, to help freelance writers and authors of fiction,non-fiction, poetry, and short stories set up and manage the business side oftheir writing careers.
