Web Developer and Designer in Fredonia, New York
Jonathan Woolson serves as the university web manager for the State University of New York at Fredonia. An open culture advocate and lifelong Quaker (Religious Society of Friends), Jonathan has been sometimes seen dancing with fans of Nahko and Medicine for the People, or groovin' to the Hungry March Band musicians & street dancers. Jonathan has occasionally been known to keep some strange company with lovely acupuncturists, straight edge punks, upstate Occupiers, Unitarian Universalists, Greenpeace hippies, Deep Green Resisters, Red Earth Women's Alliance Four Directions / Transform Columbus Day, walking with U.N. People's Climate Marchers, Nuke-Free Cattaraugus Creek water walkers, serious professors, silly teachers, tons of awesome kids, and other ne’er-do-wells and assorted riff-raff.
His recent obsessions are permaculture and folding 3m (9ft) paper cranes with kids. His favorite TED Talks are listed at http://fredonia.edu/web/ted.
Jonathan's teachers and influencers include his family, his kids, his wife Laura, some YFNA Quaker hippies, International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers, Peace Pilgrim, Grandmother Twylah Nitsch, Oren Lyons, Utah Phillips, Martin Luther King, Jr., Arundhati Roy, Wendell Berry, O-sensei Ueshiba, Ani DiFranco, John Francis, Scott McCloud, Robert Fulghum, Leonard Shlain, Marshall Rosenberg, Richard Bach, Buckmister Fuller, Howard Zinn, Alice Walker, Severn Cullis-Suzuki, Medea Benjamin, Michael Franti, Guy McPherson, Francis Moore-Lappe, Timothy Bennett, Richard Heinberg, and Derrick Jensen.
Jonathan may (or may NOT) belong to LOCAL 574 of the Amalgamated Union of Philosophers, Sages, Luminaries and Other Professional Thinking Persons.
