Heyyyyyy, my name is Jayden Worswick. I always thought I was going to be the first girl to play in the NBA, lol. Clearly, that did not go so well.
At the age of seven, I was playing travel AAU basketball and had practices three days a week and tournaments every weekend. I had no time to do anything besides play basketball or go to school; however, I would not change my life for anything else. This love for the game lasted until my sophomore year of high school. At this point, I had been playing at least five days a week for the past nine years of my life. I was really good at basketball and was starting on varsity since my freshman year, but I was not playing as well as I wanted. So, I became overwhelmed and stressed that I was not going to the top D1 prospect and so I quit. I stopped playing AAU basketball as well as my high school and once sophomore year came to an end so did my basketball career.
At first, my time away from the sport was so refreshing. I felt great, I could finally hang out with all of my friends and go to parties and sleep-overs without waking up at six for a practice or game. Even though I felt great for a little, it shortly faded away. My love for the game quickly “haunted” me. I was watching college games and high school basketball games wishing I was on the court. It became too hard to even watch the sport, I just wanted to be playing again.
Well, it is too late to get back on the court and play in college, but I can still be around the sport. That is why I have decided to go into business school, for I want to be an NBA sports agent. This would be the best way for me to be surrounded by the game and the atmosphere that surrounds the sport.
