I am a 22 year old student at Kent State University studying public relations and marketing. I enjoy listening to music and playing all kinds of sports. I never turn down an oppurtunity to learn. Currently making a transition from college into the real world. I am extremely excited to see where my future careers will take me. I am en route for an exciting life ahead.
I started playing the guitar at eight years old. I had two extremely talented guitar teachers and one persistent mom while growing up who never let me quit. I remember being grounded to my lesson book, chair and guitar every day until I practiced the guitar for at least 30 minutes. Needless to say I put up some fights while it was nice outside but if my mom is paying for lessons, I was paying with time. Today, as I jam almost everyday, I look back and realize how awesome she was for doing that.
Choosing a major for me was a roller coaster. I changed my major from business to music and then finally sticking with public relations. My thought process in choosing Public Relations as a major is unique. I found marketing to be my passion in the business world while changing my major. I realized early while researching majors that Public Relations and Marketing have a lot in common. Marketing could possibly be called sales while Public Relations done right supports and enhances marketing efforts. Starting my journey towards a major in Public Relations was bumpy while struggling to understand the concepts. This is why I believe my choice of a major was perfect. After understanding and expanding on different views of PR concepts, I opened up my business world and eliminated my biggest weakness being Public Relations and made it my strength. Now I believe I am a powerhouse ready to better companies and organizations with my two strengths being Marketing and Public Relations.
