Jessica Yañez-Perez
Public Relations in California
Originally from San Diego, CA, I moved to Dallas and made it my home for the past 12 years, but I decided to hit the road and let it take me back to where it all began. I guess sometimes the road home is paved with gold, or at least leads to the Golden State. Ha.
I currently work as a freelance Public Relations Account Manager and love what I do. Hello! People are my thing and helping people and organizations find their voice is AMAZING. From website review and content creation to social media and event management, I've worked with small start up nonprofits to large organizations.
Kids and sports have always been my thing, and I've been fortunate enough to have worked in both areas throughout my career. One of the highlights of my time in Texas has been to be part of the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee team for the first Super Bowl in the North Texas region. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I will always remember with fondness.
I have been active in many organizations, including the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce and FLIGHT YPO. I served on the board of YP214, a young professionals group for the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and served as a "Bis Sister" with Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star. During my tenure with YP214, I chaired the Public Relations and Membership committees.
Of course I can't forget my people at the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Great organization and even better people. I love being part of all the organizations I have immersed myself in.
I graduated from the Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s in Public Relations and a minor in Spanish.
Working on my website so it should be up and running shortly!
