Beyond Eyes Reach
I'm a Northern California artist living in Sacramento. My paintings are often large scale explorations of self that lean towards the whimsical, dark and obscure.
I've exhibited in California, Nevada, Chicago, New York, Hawaii, Venezuela, Japan and Norway, and have work in numerous private collections, as well as, the Asian American Art Centre in New York, the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno and the Triton Museum of Art and Crocker Art Museum in California. I have work included in the International Arts & Artists traveling exhibition, “Infinite Mirror; Images of American Identity.” The exhibit opened at Syracuse University in New York and is traveling to museums and institutions throughout the Eastern United States.
I've received grants from the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission, the California Arts Council and in 2004 was awarded the Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters and Sculptors Grant. I was also nominated for the Alliance of Artists Communities, Vision from the New California Project in 2006 and 2007.
Aside from painting, I own a small video production company in Sacramento called, Digital Boondocks. As a videographer, I've collaborated with the California Association of Museums and the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento producing short artist videos such as painter, Mel Ramos and Austrian artist, Gottfried Helnwein. Recently I created a video for Bay Area artist, Travis Somerville, for his Kickstarter campaign which eventually funded his site specific Rainbow Warriors project with Earthbound Moon in New Mexico.
I also create short web based videos for individuals, businesses and organizations.
