Hello! My name is Katie Carlson, and I am a current psychology major at West Texas A&M University, where my academic experiences go beyond the classroom. As a former member of the WT AmeriCorps program, I was able to explore many possibilities in mental health and counseling, which helped me realize that my passion is in serving those who are struggling. My time at Guyon Saunders Resource Center significantly encouraged my decision to seek higher education after I had witnessed the challenges that many individuals face without it. Through my future counseling clinic, I hope to provide support for those in need and make mental health services more accessible. Looking forward, I intend to pursue two master's degrees in school counseling and general counseling, and a PHD in Counseling and mental health. I'm excited to combine my education and experiences to make a positive impact on the communities I will serve.
