Oral Tradition Storyteller in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Combine the energy of Red Fraggle, the silly of Gilda Radner, and a peppering of thoughtfulness, and empathy from Mary Poppins...

That is what you get with me, and from my storytelling! Hi I'm Kait , and I am an emerging Oral Tradition Storyteller from Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

I believe that storytelling can be an entertaining, educational force that can promote active listening, inclusion, and empathy in all people. When I tell, I invite the audience to live the folktales with me by un-harnessing movement, refrains, and emotions on our journey together.

Through a background in broadcasting I've been able sharpen my performance, and communications skills. Now, through learning from the wonderful elders of my craft, I have had the fortune to be able to put my talents to good use with a career that I am incredibly passionate about.

I have had the pleasure to tell at many different schools and festivals in the Waterloo Region over the last few years, and I can't wait to meet even more new lovers of story. Some of my new ventures include: workshop programs, yoga and storytelling with young people, and directing concerts with The Baden Storytellers' Guild. You can always catch me trying out new material at Stories Aloud, the second Friday of the month, live from Button Factory Arts in Waterloo.

In closing, I believe that the stories of the world should be shared, and in sharing them we can do a world of good.
