Karilyn Foster

My name is Karilyn Foster but most know me by Kari. I am a Junior at Morehead State University where I am studying English and Government. Pursing these degrees is partly responsible for my love for coffee.

I would say there are two sides to my personality. On the one hand, I am obsessed with all things Disney. When I am at school in Kentucky, my heart is in Orlando. I also love the Harry Potter series as well as other Young Adult Literature. I even hope to write my own YA novel.

On the other hand, I also consider myself to be serious at times. It is a lot of work, but I enjoy being immersed in and learning about works by authors from Plato to Shakespeare. I feel very blessed to be exposed to such classics while I attend Morehead State.

While these characteristics can sometimes clash, I hope to combine them to help me succeed in the professional and creative world. My top goal is to become a part of the Walt Disney Company whether in human resources or their publishing branch. Because I love the written word and the structure of government, I would also like to craft speeches for politicians. I am hoping this course will help to strengthen my professional writing skills so that I may use them to reach my goals.
