I am an incorrigible idealist and romantic, much given to cherishing things that others take for granted; sunlight dancing on tree-shrouded lakes, mountain crags laced with snow and silver rivulets of ice, girls with champagne smiles that ripple through the memory in quiet moments ever after.

I have been many things in life: a diplomat, a spook, an architect, a novelist, an international consultant, a motivational speaker and a matchmaker. Oddly enough, I am actually exceptionally good at all of these professions. And I think no one is more surprised by that than me.

I see life as an adventure and am not afraid to live it. I have friends all over the world and have lived through extraordinary times and events.

I now lead a very quiet life.....or try to
