Kate White
UX Designer in Omaha, Nebraska
I'm a UX designer in Omaha, Nebraska; a free spirit with conservative values; a wife, a mom, an entrepreneur.
I've been making a living as a designer for over a decade. I started out in a small multimedia studio, working everything from branding to print to web to motion design. Since then I've worked for creative directors at an ad agency, for a startup, and for various clients as a freelancer. I've also taught art classes, designed wedding invites, dabbled in photo documentary, and even worked as a hand-drawn sign maker.
I taught myself front-end development and have designed iOS & Android apps. I've worked with people enough to know that clients, bosses, and the in-laws don't *exactly* know what goes into a design job, and I'm okay with that. (Because it's part of the job to teach!)
These days I work as a User Experience designer at a software company and let me tell you… I LOVE IT. I help shape solutions for complex design problems through user research, prototyping and UI design. It's nerdy, and I really like it.
In addition to that, I'm a wife of one incredible man and mom to two super cute kiddos. I have an addiction to sweets, coffee, and CBS Sunday Morning, and I'm working to start Nebraska's first coworking & childcare space in 2018. (Check out the link above to learn more!)
I love meeting new people, and if you've made it this far in the Kate White novella, please reach out for a lunch or coffee date so I can get to know you!
