Kacee Weaver

I am a Utah native and spent my childhood years in a small town; climbing trees, building forts and playing in the river. I love dark chocolate, coffee, the color pink, aspen trees and listening to music. I married my high school sweetheart in 2000. Together we have 3 children; ages 11, 9 and 6. As a family we like to laugh, hike, ski, and go camping. I love people, music, bookstores, playing softball and being in the mountains.

I graduated from Weber State University in 2006, with a dual BA in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. This is where my personal philosophy, “Children are not things to be molded but people to be unfolded” began to develop. I was a stay-at-home mom for several years, when Montessori found me in the winter of 2009. I received my Montessori 6-9 certification from Institute for Guided Studies and have been a lead teacher at Maria Montessori Academy since its inception in 2010.

As part of establishing this new school I have helped correlate the Montessori curriculum sequence to the Common Core Standards and I am a part of our schools’ state accreditation team as well as being on the executive board and I am currently serving on the MEPI board of directors. I am a mentor to new teachers at our school and also busy working on completing a Master of Arts degree in Montessori education.

Life is busy but I wouldn't have it any other way! I love learning, growing and being active. When I'm not working, studying or planning lessons I like to play with my dogs, read to my kids, sit on the porch or do yard work.
