Hello and welcome to my about.me page!

My name is Kacey Barton and my passions include illustration, 2D animation, photography, travelling, learning foreign languages and Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).

My love for character design, concept art, and animation has led me to enrol in the Gaming Technology program at Sul Ross State University with specializations in Illustration and Animation in the Fall of 2016. I have illustrated 3 books (one of which is currently unpublished), designed the logo for the Youtuber Birgirpall, and successfully ran the Community Days comic strip in Midland College's El Paisano newspaper for two years.

In January and February of 2016 I was in Beijing, China to complete a TEFL certification course. I successfully completed the course and I am now a certified TEFL teacher for both adults and children. I have almost 5 years of experience tutoring EFL learners, starting with Skype and email lessons and ending with tutoring EFL learners at Midland College for a year and a half.

Travelling and learning foreign languages are my greatest passions by far. I speak Norwegian at a B1 level and Icelandic at an A2/B1 level. I can read basic German and I can read and understand quite a bit of Spanish, Swedish and Danish. I would like to continue my language study and start learning Welsh and Japanese. I would like to travel to every European country, US State and North American country, Russia, and South Korea. My ultimate travel goal is to settle down Norway.

My career goals include starting my own art company that focuses on 2D animated movies and educational games. I would like to have the content focus on an adult audience. Educational topics include EFL, environmental concerns, free speech and human and animal rights.
