Kadiejah E. Williams

"What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger." The words of wisdom that Kadiejah Williams believes has strengthen her ambition to dream big and set goals she never thought she could accomplish. She grew up in a family that never had anyone to attend college or let alone finish . On June 6th, 2012 she changed that. The family of eighteen year old Ms. Williams shed tears of joy and happiness as the principal of this small high school called her name and handed her the diploma of of general course classes. Being the first to graduate high school was only the stepping stone to what she had planned ahead.
Debating on whether the time was right to leave home and go off to college, she stuck around one year and attended Johnston majoring in Associates in Sciences with plans to transfer. As the year went by she was dedicated to studying hard as a fulltime student and maintaining a fulltime job at Wilco Hess. When August 2013 came she was still unsure if a University was the right choice; though she applied and was many. Waiting until the last minute she picked the one college that stood out to her the most, North Carolina Central University. On August 18th, 2013 she became a transfer student at good ol' NCCU, with a major in Nursing, longing to be a Neonatal Nurse.
She has now completed a full year at NCCU and to her luck it didn't turn out as she had planned. Spring 2014 semester was a downfall for her. She tried to be involved more on campus, work two jobs, while being a fulltime student, and maintain a social life. She did all this, thinking of her family first. They needed help in the family, and she went out her way to do nothing more. This left her failing two classes and barely getting by in three other courses passing only with a B. This lowered her GPA to less than a 2.5. There's no way she would be competive enough to enter into her major.
But Kadiejah doesn't give up she just looks at it as a "setback for a major comeback." She has planned to transfer schools actually this fall 2014 to the of North Carolina- Charlotte. While being at UNCC she plans to sign up for their ROTC course and the following semester enlist in the Army Reserve entering in as E3. And, after return back to school and continue to further her as a Registered Neonatal Nurse. She
