Kafir Zindeeq
United States of America
I have left Islam nearly 20 years ago. It wasn't an easy journey, and it's still far from over. As an ex-Muslim I feel I have a duty and a calling to connect with my former brothers and sisters in faith to hopefully help some who are willing to make the leap I made but also to further understand my own apostasy.
By profession and training I am a scientist, and as such, I believe part of the reason why I left Islam has to do with the worlview afforded to me by science.
As a murtad (Arabic word for apostate) I prefer to keep my real identity hidden. Others in a similar situation who go public often live with a fear for their life, as It is the duty of the Muslim community to execute apostates if they do not repent.
