Kai Abelkis

Hello, been a wonderful journey from a shy kid playing in the suburbs of Chicago to a sustainability coordinator to creating a crowd sourcefunding nonprofit. When I say shy, I feel empathy for the kid I was growing up. But that was the way it had to be in order for me to find my voice. Graduated from Indiana University, travelled, enjoyed myself, waited lots of tables, met my wife Linda in Nashville, moved to Chicago and worked in politics and Greenpeace, stay at home papa with my 2 kids, ran for public office and got my tush wiped, moved to Boulder, became the first sustainability coordinator at a hospital, worked at EcoCycle, consulted, raised a family and adopted my daughter from China, drank good beer, and now find myself heading Community Source Funding.org. Looking at turning 50 this fall and feeling really blessed.
