Kain Wilks - About Me

Hi I'm Kain, I'm 17 years old and I'm from Manchester, and I'm ready to begin the next chapter of my life. I already have plenty of work experience, for example, last year I spent the summer working in a garage, where my tasks included assisting the mechanics with daily jobs, and dealing with customers both over the phone and face-to-face. Whilst working at the garage, I picked up numerous transferrable skills, such as team work, working to a budget, and customer service. Working at the garage really boosted my confidence with people. I'm always keen to try new things and I recently worked a hotel in Oldham, where I learned about catering and cooking. I worked long days under pressure and it was good experience of being in a real work place. I tried a variety of roles at the Hotel which helped me discover that my favourite area of the industry is catering. I have a real interest in food and fitness, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important to me. I am dedicated to keeping track of what I eat, and going to the gym every day. I would like a job in the Sports industry in future, as a Personal Trainer, referee, or coach. I recently took part in a week long project based at Key 103 in Manchester, where I learned how to DJ, recorded an interview and wrote a biography. My favourite part of this project was recording an interview with Claire Simonsen from Radio City. I enjoyed the interview because it gave me an idea of what it's like to work in radio. My favourite radio station is Kisstory, because I love Old School music.
