On May 19, 1995, I entered a world full of opportunity with a unique purpose. From that special day, I formed significiant relationships with people and participated in a number of activities that shaped me into the individual I am today.

The diversity of events I participated in at Mountain View High School and my involvement in the Gwinnett Student Leadership Team led me to the University of Georgia. My freshman year of college, I got involved within the UGA Student Government Association in Freshman Forum. I entered my sophomore year knowing I would be applying to Grady early that Fall. After such an exciting experience, I experienced the most traumatic event in my life. I was hit by a car, while walking to class. The recovery process was extremely tough, but I was able to finish out the semester miraculously receiving a 4.0 G.P.A and with news that I had gotten into Grady for Digital/Broadcast Journalism

That one event has definitely shaped my life, but the support of my family and close friends allowed me to come out stronger than ever. At this point in the present, I have established a drive to pursue a career within sports media. I will be working with the Gwinnett Daily Post Sports Editor Will Hammock as an intern this summer, and this is only the beginning. This Fall I will be applying for the Grady Sports Media Certificate to delve within the sports media realm even more. My dream job is to broadcast sports on a national level one day as a sideline reporter; therefore, I intend to do as much as I can before graduating college, so I will be able to come out of school with my degree and experience and do just that. Sports have had an enormous impact on me as a person, and I will strive to keep sports a vital factor in my life. Eventually, I will become a striking female presence within the male-dominated sports media career field.
