Kaitlin Luna
Greetings, welcome to my page! I'm a working millennial. That makes me part of the trophy generation. Yes, we are all winners. I've found my calling to be in higher education working with a diverse range of students, who in my opinion are at pivotal points in their lives; faced with change, choices, knowledge and greater opportunities.
As a student affairs professional I am particularly skilled at working with students in person, online and through social media to provide career counseling and academic advising. (With 3+ years of experience as an academic advisor and 1+ years of experience as a career counselor).
As a Career Counselor, I provide students with career and social media strategies which includes major and career exploration, MBTI interpretations, résumé and cover letter reviews, networking, interview preparation, job search strategies, and personal branding. I also develop and present workshops on the aforementioned topics to present to student organizations, clubs, classes and offices on campus.
My workday also consists of tweeting, re-tweeting, blogging and creating original content, including photos to post on our Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn pages – increasing communication between students, alumni, parents, employers, faculty and staff.
I earned a masters degree from Northern Arizona University in Counseling Student Affairs and I am educated in student development theory, counselor education, and career assessments including the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Strong Interest Inventory (SII), and StrengthsQuest.
My professional goals include continuing to work with students within Student Affairs and Higher Education to increase access to education and services while creating opportunities for learning and helping students develop strategies to meet their academic and career goals.
