Kaitlyn Brown

I love school. Always have. I love to read and am passionate about learning and exploring new things. I am also hearing impaired. This has been a struggle for me for as long as I can remember but has become an opportunity to overcome rather than give up. My family is very musical, but part of overcoming my hearing was delving into writing and reading rather than into music which I have repeatedly found was the best thing to do even though sometimes I wish I had the ability to pursue and enjoy music more. Newspaper and the IB program drew me away from music and because of this, I have instead strengthened in writing and journalistic capabilities, growing to love hearing and writing people's stories more and more. I want to continue to write and I want to become a teacher when I grow up.
