Kaitlyn Price

A computer scientist from Pittsburgh, PA, Kaitlyn has been programming for almost as long as she can remember. Thanks to her parents refusal to buy a video game console, she started programming her own games at the age of eight, first in Visual Basic, then Flash, Java, C#, and currently C++. Currently, she also does natural language processing work for Carnegie Mellon University and has a project with the University of British Columbia, and has a special place in her heart for mobile development.

While she considers computers one of the most important parts of her life, Kaitlyn believes that the most important function of a computer is not time-saving or wasting, but rather, enabling a type of creative process that would be prohibitive without microprocessor's sifting through the small stuff. She would consider all that she does with code a part of the artistic spectrum, and tries to make it obvious in the final product just how much creative thought went into it.
