Dream Job- Wildlife Photography

This career interests me becausei've always been interested in animals, love to travel and I love to take photos. With wildlife photography ill be able to do the things I enjoy while making money.

Education Requirements-

Some publications might ask for an associates or bachelors degree in photography.

Average Salary- between $25,000 and $62,000 but depending on a portfolio and reputation your salary can be different.

Five skills:

  • Definitely Proficiency in using camera equipment. Each photo will be in a different area and will need to understand how to change your equipment based on where you are.
  • Ability to professionally edit photos.Your photos will be outside which might mean terrible lighting. You're going to need to know how to edit the photos without making the photos look over edited.
  • Research skills. It is important to know where and what you will be working with. Traveling to different areas especially countries will all have different rules and obstacles that you should be aware of. You'll need to understand the animals or nature in the area too.

Understanding composition elements. The photos need to be taken or edited in a way that can show exactly what the photo is supposed to be of. (ex: don't focus on the dirt if you're trying to take a photo of an elephant.) This important to publication companies.

  • Communication and ability to work with deadlines. Companies will need to communicate clearly with you to buy your work or ask for you to take certain photos. Sending these photos over will require you to be able to understand and work well with deadlines.
