Sports have always been an integral part of my life. Most nights when I was little, I would fall asleep to the sounds of a football game, or to the yelling of my dad as the game didn't go his way. As i aged, i began playing soccer, and continued to play competitively up until college. Entering college, however, it has become challenging for sports to retain their position as the most important aspect of my life. I am no longer practicing three days a week, and with homework piling up, it is more difficult to keep tabs on all of the games I used to watch. As sports take a temporary backseat, I have been able to focus on my writing, especially with taking English 1101 last semester. Throughout the last two semesters, I have learned new ways to enhance my writing, similar to the way I worked on my soccer skills over the course of many years. My portfolio contains a few pieces of writing that I feel best show how my writing has improved.
