I am an internationally recognised academic having made a significant contribution to my academic field through publications, patents and conferences. As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) I have a passion for teaching and committed to exemplary pastoral support of students and to provide the highest quality learning experience.

I am committed to providing students support and mentoring that will inspire their learning with an education that embeds transferrable skills and prepares them for progression to fulfilling careers.I have leadership roles in academic integrity and employability.

I have worked with industry, academia and numerous stakeholders building partnerships and mutually beneficial collaborations supporting high quality multidisciplinary research and research-led teaching.

I am a Director of Perfect Publishers and Founder Member of MIP Diagnostics. My interests range from technology (computational design of MIPs, nanoMIPs in sensors and assays) to education of UG/PG students. I have an interest in screen writing, food, cooking and astronomy.

An Associate Professor in Organic and Computational Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, University of Leicester:

Research: Computational design of molecular imprinted polymers (MIPs). 50+ publications in high ranking journals, over 30+ conference proceedings, plenary/invited speaker at international conferences. Work involves the use of nanoparticles and polymers in drug discovery, food security, environment and in clinical applications.

Teaching: Research-led teaching and learning support of students has been evidenced by HEA. Deliver modules to embed core subject-specific and transferrable skills and teach in China. Project supervise BSc/MChem/PhD students with projects that reflect and enhance career prospects in relevant employment.

Careers: Responsible for implementation of employability in Chemistry. Coordinate and support students continuous personal and professional development ensuring skills and career planning are embedded within the curriculum so that students are the stand out choice for employers.

Plagiarism: Ensure students comply with University Senate Regulations on academic integrity on student discipline related to plagiarism and collusion in Chemistry and collaborate on addressing university-wide issues of plagiarism detection.
