I have been in English language teaching for the last 15 years as a teacher, trainer, lecturer, and researcher. Presently, I am Assistant Professor in English, Bankim Sardar College, University of Calcutta, and Guest Lecturer in English, Rabindra Bharati University, India. I am also one of India's leading Learning Technologists.

I am actively involved with a number of teacher associations. Currently I am Vice-President, IndiaCALL (The India Association of Computer Assisted Language Learning), Executive Committee Member, AsiaCALL, (The Asia Association of Computer Assisted Language Learning), and Member IALLT Council. I am in the committee of Teacher Training and Education (TTEd) and Young Learners and Teenages (YLT) Special Interest Group (SIG) of IATEFL.

I have been training teachers at the state and private sectors for the last five years. I'm interested in e-Learning, e-course development, e-platform customisation and administration of Content Management System or Learning Management System, training of teachers in such technologically advanced platforms, and training the staff in workplace communication skills in English. I conduct f2f and live online workshops on the use of ICT in a variety of teaching contexts.

I am interested in researching teachers' digital literacy practices in their social and professional lives.

I have co-moderated TESOL EVO session on "Language Learning and Community Building in Second Life" in 2011, and Multiliteracies in 2012.
