Kameron Jones-Marzette

My name is Kameron Jones-Marzette. Most people that know me simply call me Kam. I live and work in St. Louis, Missouri. I enjoy traveling, reading, watching movies, and shopping. I am currently interested in adopting a healthier lifestyle through food choices and exercise. I am intrigued by the Vegan lifestyle, although I doubt I have the discipline to follow it. I am passionate about educating children, especially those who are disadvantaged in terms of resources and/or opportunities. I have been married for 22 years. I have a beautiful 21 year-old daughter who is a senior at Mizzou. I also have an adorable Yorkshire terrier who is very spoiled!

I have an undergraduate degree from University of Missouri-St. Louis in Elementary Education. I have a Master’s degree from Maryville University in Educational Administration and a Master’s in Adult and Higher Education from University of Missouri-St. Louis. I am approaching retirement in a few years and I did not want to deny myself an opportunity to explore the field of library media. It is one that I have always had an interest in, but never pursued. I was thrilled to find an online program that was also aligned with Missouri standards.

I am currently a 2nd grade teacher in St. Louis with 23 years of experience. I belong to the MNEA . The library goes hand in hand with my daily instruction through the use of its books and resources. As a graduate student, I frequently use the library for research as well. Fortunately, we are able to collaborate with the librarian for book suggestions and materials. The staff completes end of the year surveys and the librarian frequently participates with weekly lesson and unit planning to provide feedback of available resources to complement classroom instruction. I look forward to learning with everyone this semester!
