Dr Katharine A. M. Wright is a Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at the University of Winchester. She completed her PhD at the University of Surrey, where she went on to hold the position of Teaching Fellow in International Relations.

From January 2016 to December 2016, she also worked as a Research Fellow on an ESRC-funded project, ‘UK in a Changing Europe’ with Dr Simon Usherwood, University of Surrey (www.esrc.ac.uk/news-events-and-publications/news/news-items/examining-the-uk-s-place-in-europe/).

She was Chair of the British International Studies Association Postgraduate Network for 2015/16.

Dr Wright's research interests relate to NATO and UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. Her thesis examined NATO’s implementation of the Resolution.

She has expertise on NATO’s public diplomacy strategy, NATO as a gendered institution and European approaches to the Women, Peace and Security agenda.

Her work has been published in a number of scholarly journals, including: International Affairs, International Political Science Review and the Australian Journal of Political Science. In addition to the LSE Impact Blog, Open Democracy, the PSA Blog and E-International Relations.

Dr Wright has taught across a range of Politics and International Relations modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
