Kanners

Hello my name is Kanners and I am a Head Start teacher in Florida. I have been working for this company for 10 months but I have 3 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education. I was raised in the wonderful island of Puerto Rico, therefore I studied my bachelor's in the University of Puerto Rico in Bayamon and graduated in June of 2013. When I moved to Orlando, Florida, this is where I had my first experience as a new teacher. I started in Sanford, Florida and now I am currently working in Longwood, Florida. My philosophy is to provide an enriched environment for children early age children, which benefits their social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Where students and parents are identified as the focus because parent participation in the classroom provides opportunities to support continued learning in the home. I am the kind of teacher that loves to make a song out of everything, I like sports and I am very creative when it comes to arts and crafts. This is why the children love to sing along with me, the children love to keep up with me in the playground and why they engage during arts and craft time. The kinds of topic I plan to talk about in my blog is how to use music to capture children's attention, how to integrate cognitive and literacy skills in physical activity, how to integrate technology in Preschool classrooms and finally, the importance of encouraging creativity in Early Childhood Education.
