Kanti Gala
Public Speaker, Life Coach, and Small Business Owner in USA
Kanti and Lata Gala, both originally from Mumbai, India, came to the United States for the same reason – to pursue higher education. Kanti, with a degree in chemistry, came to the States in 1970, where he obtained his MS and PhD. Lata also came to the U.S. with a degree in chemistry, arriving in 1972 as a tourist, but staying on to study nuclear medicine. They met while Kanti was still a student, and were married in 1975. After his post-doctoral research, Kanti joined a pharmaceutical company in New Jersey as a research scientist. He was soon promoted to the position of Principal Scientist, and Lata was the Administrative Director of Nuclear Medicine at a local hospital.
At the peak of their professional careers, Kanti and Lata were completely dissatisfied with the corporate world and not being rewarded for their hard work and dedication. They knew that they needed to find a better way of life for their family and made the decision to pursue an opportunity to start their own business. Their two children, Neil and Anjali, were young at the time, but instead of using them as an excuse they made them the reason to build a business where they could incorporate the same personal, family and spiritual values that they grew up with in India.
Kanti and Lata’s commitment to their business was born out of devotion to one another and to their children. They both were able to retire becoming full time business owners and worked hard building a successful business based on their passion for helping others succeed. Today the Galas live in a beautiful home in Manalapan, New Jersey. Their daughter, Anjali, lives next door with her husband Kavan and his family. Their son, Neil, and his wife, Sirisha, work in the business with them. Because it’s a family business, Kanti and Lata are able to spend quality time with their three grandchildren, Saahil, Navya and Nikhil, every day.
The Galas also have a passion for giving to people in need. They feel that it’s very important to give back and generously support many charitable organizations. In particular, they have helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for Easter Seals which supports children and adults with disabilities, veterans and their families throughout the nation. At the 2009 World of Hope Gala, Kanti and Lata received the prestigious Lillie and Allan Shedlin Award from Easter Seals New York, in recognition of their service in helping people with disabilities and special needs.
