Kara Spence
Kara is a multi passionate educational innovator. Over the last 20 years she has combined her passions for the environment, young people, community and the Arts in designing and delivering award-winning projects.
Her projects have included a statewide arts and environment education program for Greening Australia. She also led an arts and environment project engaging over 2500 primary and secondary school students in Victoria.
Her leadership capability and strategic thinking skills have enabled a high level of engagement in creating positive change. She has successfully worked with a wide range of stakeholders, including corporate, government, community, young people, environmental organisations and artists.
As a project manager, Kara’s engagement, passion and positive approach have been acknowledged as creating a safe space for constructive collaboration. This space allowed wildlife and indigenous land managers, leading educators; project managers and sustainability professionals to develop shared ownership and achieve successful outcomes.
In her work with young people, Kara has a passion for unleashing potential. She engages with young people in an authentic and meaningful way, enabling them to develop problem solving skills, creative thinking and high levels of empowerment.
Other skills Kara has developed through her project work include presentation skills, website content creation and photography. She is the author of Humans of Tasmania.
