Hi, I'm Kara. I am a wife, mom of 5, lover of food. I am laid back but driven. Conflicted. I am an introvert that loves to write about my life. Again; Conflicted. I am sarcastic to a fault, and also reflective. I feel lucky in life, love, and laughs. Laughter really is what makes life amazing.

I am married to an extremely interesting man. I knew when I married him, I would never be bored. He is funny, impossible to embarrass, charismatic, and good looking. Not to mention he has always been deeply spiritual, sensitive, and a great husband and father. See....lucky.

My kids are the best most challenging part of my life. My theory is that there is no job as demanding as motherhood, especially if you are trying to do it right. I am trying, though I admit, I get it wrong quite often. I have 3 girls and 2 boys, ranging in age from high school to preschool.

Some of my hobbies include cooking, painting, and writing. I started a foodblog with my sister last year called Cheekychive.com. It's a compilation of all our healthy recipes. We tend to get very hyperfocused and go all out on something. So for months, we cooked, photographed, wrote, and posted all our best ideas for how to feed a family healthy, simple meals. We still spend time on that website, but I wanted to create a space where I could just write about any thing I wanted.

I love popcorn on Sunday nights, dark chocolate anytime, and Hugh Grant movies when I need a laugh. I love sunshine, big trees, and history. I love to travel but hate to fly. I despise spiders, fast food, and hang nails. I am opinionated, direct, and practical.
